### muk Zunow-SE
**Zunow Pentaflex Lens to Sony E-Mount Adapter**
Custom 3D-Printed Mount Adapter by muk camera service, Japan
This adapter allows rare **Zunow Pentaflex mount lenses** to be used on **Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras**.
The adapter was originally developed after receiving a request from a customer and examining an actual Zunow Pentaflex lens.
The Zunow Pentaflex has a unique lens mount and aperture-control mechanism. Because the aperture cannot be operated simply by mounting the lens on a conventional passive adapter, the muk Zunow-SE incorporates a separate mechanism to operate the aperture linkage.
### Mounting and Aperture Operation
The adapter has two separate control rings:
- Lens locking ring
- Aperture operating ring
Before mounting the lens, the aperture linkage lever on the rear of the lens must be placed in the correct position.
First, set the desired aperture value on the lens itself. Then use the aperture operating ring on the adapter to stop down the lens.
When changing to a wider aperture, first return the adapter's aperture ring toward the open position, and then change the aperture setting on the lens.
**Maximum stop-down with this adapter is approximately f/8.**
To operate the aperture linkage, a circumferential slot is required in the adapter body. Increasing the rotation angle of the aperture ring would require a longer slot, which would reduce the mechanical strength of the adapter.
For this reason, the rotation angle was intentionally limited in order to maintain sufficient strength and rigidity. As a result, the usable aperture range is limited to approximately f/8.
Because the Zunow Pentaflex mechanism is unusual, please carefully follow the mounting and operating instructions shown on this page.
### Construction
- Lens mount: Zunow Pentaflex
- Camera mount: Sony E
- Body material: ASA resin
- Camera-side mount: Metal Sony E-mount flange
- Construction: Hybrid metal and 3D-printed ASA structure
- Manufacturing method: 3D printing
- 3D printer: ZORTRAX
- Made by muk camera service, Japan
The adapter body incorporates an internal aperture-control mechanism.
A separate internal ring engages with the aperture linkage of the lens and is connected to the external aperture operating ring through the slot in the adapter body.
This is not a mass-produced product. Each adapter is manufactured individually after an order is received.
Because it is a 3D-printed product, the surface finish may vary depending on the printing direction. Some surfaces may be smoother or rougher than others.
### Compatibility and Important Notes
This adapter was developed and tested using an actual **Zunow Pentaflex 50mm F1.8 lens** and a **Sony α7 II**.
Zunow Pentaflex lenses are extremely rare, and variations between individual lenses cannot be completely ruled out.
The original Zunow Pentaflex camera body was not available during development. Therefore, the adapter was designed by carefully observing the mechanical operation of the lens itself.
Because the customer's lens is extremely rare and valuable, it was not disassembled during development. Only the mechanisms that could be safely observed and operated from the outside were examined.
This adapter provides mechanical mounting and manual aperture operation only. There is no electronic communication between the lens and camera.
Please handle both the lens and adapter carefully.
