English Information
muk3D Altix M — Altix Lens to Leica M Mount Adapter
This is a custom adapter for using Altix lenses with Leica M mount cameras and adapters.
The adapter converts the original Altix lens mount to Leica M mount. By using Leica M as an intermediate mount, Altix lenses can be used with a wide range of modern mirrorless cameras by combining the adapter with the appropriate M-mount adapter.
The adapter was developed as part of the muk 3D Print Project, an experimental small-scale manufacturing project using 3D printing to produce unusual and discontinued camera mount adapters.
One of the most important features of this adapter is the lens locking mechanism.
The original Altix mount uses a positive-lock system. Instead of simply reproducing the shape of the original mount, the adapter was designed with the same basic locking principle.
The Altix lens has a positioning pin that determines the correct mounting position. The lens is inserted into the adapter and a locking ring is then rotated clockwise to secure the lens.
This allows the original lens mounting procedure to be retained as closely as possible.
The adapter was tested with the Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 50mm f/2.9, one of the well-known lenses available in an Altix mount.
The lens was tested on several modern cameras, including:
Sony α7
Sony α7 II
SIGMA fp
FUJIFILM X-T4
Leica M Monochrom (M246)
On a Leica M camera with Live View, the Altix lens can be focused using the camera's live-view display.
The adapter is manufactured using Z-ABS v2 ABS resin with a metal Leica M mount flange. This hybrid construction combines a metal camera-side mount with a 3D-printed ABS body.
The printed part retains the characteristic appearance of a 3D-printed component. Depending on the printing orientation, some surfaces may be smoother while others may show visible printing texture.
Because this is not a mass-produced product, it is manufactured one unit at a time after an order is received.
3D printing makes it possible to produce specialized adapters for small groups of photographers and collectors without the tooling costs required for conventional mass production.
Replacement of individual printed resin components is also possible, making repair practical if a printed component is damaged.
Lens mount: Altix → Leica M

Material: Z-ABS v2 / metal
